Our Spring 2010 season kicks off on September 4, 2009, with a trunk show celebrating the premier of Carolyne Satuer's new collection, "Timeless by Carolyne Satuer". This gorgeous collection features exquisite fabrics, hand beading, elegant laces, and best of all, they are specially proportioned in Women's sizes! The entire collection will be flown in for you to view only at The Silver Lining, in sizes 14 Misses-34W.

We are so excited to be receiving this new collection of gowns! The beading is extraordinary....swarovski crystals, genuine freshwater pearls, silver threadwork....I could go on for days about how gorgeous these gowns are. The best part is that the entire "Timeless" Collection is priced at $699-$1799, with no upcharges for changing colors, larger sizes, or petite or tall lengths! These gowns are not only gorgeous, they are an incredible value.

Amazing!

I want to take a quick second to thank all the amazing brides, grooms, and moms who have helped us raise money for SARC. Your generosity is touching the lives of so many women.

Throughout our sponsorship of SARC, I've come to witness so many personal stories. One, a mother of the bride, was in tears when she wrote her donation check. Through her tears she wispered "Thank you for giving me my power back". It wasn't me, it was her. She was strong.

Another was a man who had lost his sister to a stranger attack over 30 years ago. Yet another was an Assistant DA who works with SA cases. All of you have been such a blessing in support of SARC. We can't thank you enough.

In case you haven't heard of SARC, it stands for Sexual Assault Resource Center. This wonderful organization leads the way in helping to heal the wounds of sexual assault and gender violence. They provide a 24 hour crisis line, they send volunteers to the hospitals, and they provide aftercare counseling to those of us impacted by the horror of sexual assault. Additionally, they raise awareness of the staggering statistics of sexual assault. It could be you, your friends, your sisters, neices, even your mother. Statistically speaking, by the age of 25, 1 in 7 women have experienced a sexual assault. Keep in mind that these numbers are only based on reported incidents. The true statistics are gutwrenching.

On September 26, SARC's yearly fundraiser "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is scheduled in Beaverton, Oregon. Ladies, if you've ever wanted to see your guy stagger around in high heels, this is the time! All proceeds benefit SARC. And yes, even our (former pro linebacker!) staff jeweler, Caleb, will be donning the red high heels in support of SARC. :)

Wedding Day "Safety" Kit!

I've promised to publish this list for a long time, and here it is! :) For all your wedding day emergencies.....the little things you might want to pick up before you say "I do"..

"Boys, Boys, Boys"
- No one wants "that guy" in their wedding. You know who I'm talking about, the guy that wears white tube socks with his formal wear. Head him off at the pass, and any other potential "that guy", buy bringing a 6 pair pack of men's black socks. They'll thank you later, I promise. (And so will your photographer!)

"It seams to be"

- Needles
-Threads to match your gown, the tuxes, the bridesmaids gowns, and your mom's gowns
- Safety pins
- Scissors
-"Hollywood Fashion Tape", or similar body tape made for formal gowns

"It's getting hot in here!"

-Baby wipes....not only do they get antiperspirant marks out of fabric, they are great for cooling down

- Aerosol antiperspirant (great for after the baby wipes)
- Small personal fans, especially if you are outdoors and have elderly guests. You can work these into your decor by purchasing those cute oriental fans in your wedding colors!

- Paper parasols, available online in a multitude of colors. Not only do they help keep your guests cool on a hot day, they also add interest to your photos.

"The Nitty Gritty"

- Tylenol
- "Girlie Personals" (stress can do weird things to us!)
- Pepto Bismol
- Any prescription medications needed by you or your bridal party

"Kids, Dogs, and other little attendants"

Whether human or canine, little attendants can be unpredictable. Be prepared by having a basket of small treats such as special toys, non-staining food items, and a "go to" person at the ready in the front row. (For the kiddies, don't let them know it's there, or they just might go to it on purpose!) Trust me on this, that knock-down drag-out tantrum thrown during your ceremony won't be quite so cute when you watch your wedding video later!

For the pets, make sure there is a water dish handy, and perhaps a familiar face to lead them off should there be something fun to bark at :)
