Pretty Feet

Once you've decided on your gown, next you get to decide on your shoes. This is not something you want to leave until the last minute! There are many designers that have to be special ordered, so make sure to leave yourself enough time. Especially if we are ordering your shoes from Europe!

One of the biggest accessory trends we are seeing for 2010 are Luxe bridal shoes, decorated with freshwater pearls, silk flowers, and crystals. These are not your "ordinary" bridal shoes. They are the Mercedes-Benz of bridal shoes :) Many can be dyed after the wedding, so you can wear them with other outfits.

I think we can all agree that no one wants ouchie feet on their wedding day. A way to avoid that is to make sure your beautiful shoes are well made. This is not a place to pinch pennies. Cheap shoes are just that......cheap shoes. Look for designs that feature leather inside, and silk outside. They will mold and stretch to fit your foot, unlike their inferior counterparts.

Trying on before you purchase is crucial. Your wedding day comfort depends on you being able to enjoy your own party! This is why I never advocate buying shoes online. First of all, especially when you are dealing with designer shoes, there are a TON of inferior replicas out there. Trust me, they are not made with the same care the real designer shoes are. Secondly, most bridal/special occassion shoes cannot be returned. So....let's say you buy that gorgeous pair of $300 shoes online.....and they don't fit. Yikes!

At The Silver Lining, we carry Luxe and couture shoes in silk satin, silk taffeta, leather, with special details that are drool-worthy to say the least. Feel free to stop in any time to take a peek :)
